Mockup Design

Emphasizing the importance of outreach strategy and calls to action.

Concept & Purpose

Flourish Point is a non-profit organization in Rexburg, Idaho. Its mission is to support, educate, and inspire the LGBTQ+ communities of Southeast Idaho and beyond. Individuals and their families can benefit from their programs, including subsidized therapy, food and clothing donations, and harm reduction resources/education. After opening their doors in 2021, two of their greatest needs were 1) an accurate and comprehensive online presence and 2) clear steps to benefit from available resources. In September 2021, I redesigned their website to address both of these things.

Outreach Strategy

One of the most common questions that volunteers and the board of directors get asked is, “Why does Rexburg need an LGBTQ+ Resource Center?” To properly address the question, I turned to some statistics from The Trevor Project’s 2021 National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health.

The survey data offered evidence of a need to improve the mental health and well-being of LGBTQ+ youth in the U.S. One of the main programs at Flourish Point is subsidized therapy. Using 4 key insights, I applied them to the website and their social media channels:

I also used additional statistics for a power point during an open house.

Resources

As a standard for most websites, the Flourish Point website offers more information about its programs and available resources. This can be found on the landing page of the website, under the “Resources” tab in the header navigation, and in the footer section of the website.
